Healthcare Connections First CBH Accredited OH Provider

Healthcare ConnectionsJune 2008

Healthcare Connections is the first occupational health service provider to be successfully registered and accredited to the CBH industry standards.

This marks the first significant step in reaching CBH’s aims of delivering proactive solutions and implementing a national set of industry standards for the improvement of construction-related health.

As a well-established occupational healthcare provider, predominately servicing the rail industry but also construction, haulage and business/financial sectors, Healthcare Connections was quick to recognise the importance of the work carried out by CBH and its aims to implement the Fitness for Task Standards. Alison Brown, CEO of Healthcare Connections, said: “We are pleased to be recognised as a pioneer in this vital occupational health initiative from CBH. It is so important that construction companies large and small start to implement and back the CBH Standards now to improve the health and wellbeing, and therefore the safety, of the construction workforce.”

Michelle Aldous, Chief Executive of CBH, said: “We are extremely pleased at this achievement for Healthcare Connections. CBH accreditation will give them the opportunity to fully engage with all sectors of the construction industry and help them to implement the industry standards.”

Occupational health service providers who meet the CBH registration criteria can be accessed directly by employers within the construction industry. In addition, a wide range of tools and resources will be available including:

  • Access to health surveillance outcomes (non-clinical) and Fitness for Task (FFT) data via CBH website
  • Access to best practice guidance, toolbox talks, presentations, training materials
  • Access to future benchmarking statistics and reports
