FibrecleanUK.com signs up to Constructing Better Health

26/04/2010

Bedford-based asbestos removal company, FibrecleanUK.com is putting the health of its employees first by signing up to the Constructing Better Health (CBH) scheme, which offers information and software to help with the management of employee work related health data.

The CHAT (Construction Health Action Toolkit) database and software package offered by CBH will enable FibrecleanUK.com to create an occupational health action plan for each worker. The associated health surveillance and monitoring will help to ensure that FibrecleanUK.com’s workers are not damaging their health in the course of their work.

Gareth Dickson, director of FibrecleanUK.com, said: “We are delighted to be one of the first asbestos licensed companies to upload all our staff on the CBH CHAT database. As a company we continually look for additional ways we can achieve best practice when it comes to health and safety management. Through the CBH we can now be assured that we’re doing all we can to protect the health of our employees.”

As a member of the scheme, FibrecleanUK.com’s employees will be able to carry a CBH health card which identifies them to site managers as having completed ‘fitness for task’ assessments and relevant health checks.

Michelle Aldous, chief executive of Constructing Better Health, said: “Companies like FibrecleanUK.com are stealing a march on their competitors by making health a top priority. Better health surveillance and management systems not only benefit employees, but they also demonstrate to clients that work-related health is a top priority. This is something that many clients are telling us is crucial to the contracts they are issuing.”
