Changes in Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) Regulations

19/01/2012

Changes in Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) Regulations from November 2011 mean that insulin dependant diabetics may now apply to hold a Class 2 licence.  From November if all the standard levels of fitness for eyesight, mobility etc are met and it can be proved your sugar levels are under control and under the correct medical supervision, you may be able to drive large goods vehicles and passenger service vehicles on an annual licence basis.  Previously insulin dependant diabetics were barred from driving in this category.  For more information go to http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/pressoffice/pressreleases/archive2011/15112011.aspx
